The Monticello Readiness Center installation consists of 2, K-12 DOS (Dept of State) Certified Vehicle Crash Barriers at the main entrance to the facility. These vehicle barriers are designed to stop a 15,000 lb vehicle at 55 mph. This type of barrier utilizes the wedge barrier design, whereby a steel plate deploys from the roadbed. The wedge barriers are operated by a remote Hydraulic Power Unit that utilizes biodegradable vegetable oil to avoid environmental hazard. The (HPU) consists of a hydraulic pump and motor, with an internal control board and accumulator for Emergency Fast Operation (EFO). Under EFO conditions, the barrier can be deployed in half a second as a final denial to unauthorized access.
US Air Force Base, Little Rock, AR, USA
This project consisted of 8, K-4 rated vehicle barrier drop arms, remote entry control system and push-button keypad. These vehicle crash barriers are controlled by a remote Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU). The drop arm style vehicle crash barrier can be manufactured in various lengths to fit your project requirements.
DC Aqueduct Retrofit, Washington, DC, USA
The Washington, DC Aqueduct project included 32 retractable bollards. The bollards are powered by remote Hydraulic Power Units. The picture is a 6 bollard array of the 32 units in different arrays on site. Bollard arrangements can be provided in various configurations to meet project requirements. Standard operation time for complete deployment is 3 seconds. Optional Emergency Fast Operation (EFO) can deploy the bollards in half a second. Various styles and designs for bollard finishes can be provided, including standard painted finish or stainless steel covers with LED lighting.
L.R. Preyer Federal Courthouse, Greensboro, NC, USA
The LR Preyer Federal Courthouse Project consisted of taking an existing fence and converting it to a K-4 DOS (Dept of State) crash rated slide gate. Our technicians took the existing architectural gate and mounted it to a crash rated slide gate frame. Gatekeeper then installed a new industrial gate operator and along with safety features including photo eye sensors and vehicle detection loops.
